Branded Gift Design for the Pope’s Visit to Israel

Year

: 2000

Background:
In the year 2000, as part of the new millennium celebrations, Pope John Paul II had visited Israel. The Pope, who played an important role in the improvement of Israeli relations, had visited Nazareth and Jerusalem among other places.

The Challenge:
The Foreign Ministry, which was among the most prominent organizations responsible for the historic tour, sought to leverage the important visit so it may strengthen Israel's position worldwide. The rare recording of the visit was distributed on CD by the Vatican to hundreds of television stations in the Christian world totalling over one billion Christians. In order for the CD not to get lost among the mounds of materials at the television stations’ PR firms, we needed to create powerful packaging that will set the CD apart from the rest of the materials.

Our Solution:
This CD will not be thrown away.

The packaging that was designed and produced by us, with its unique and delicate illustration, distinguished it from the huge amount of materials normally sent to television stations. The encasing was made of a uniquely textured paper and was sealed in gold.
