Background:
The Temple Israel community is considered one of the largest and most active Jewish communities in North America and is comprised of thousands of members. One of the activities that consolidated and united the community was producing a prayer book custom sewn to fit their dimensions.
The Challenge:
In dealing with such a large community, the numerous opinions and diverse customs were especially challenging. The great task was of course, to find the greatest common denominator and to know, along with that, where to place the unique touches for the community’s character and sensitivities.
The Solution:
In this case especially, the appearance was important. The prayer book was designed and positioned by us, and acts as a guide in the life of the community until today. Occasionally, we find ourselves receiving compliments on the prayer book and enjoy knowing that even though it is a prayer book, its look and character contributed to the positioning and prominence of the community relative to the many other Jewish communities in North America.
